In shortUsing Sympholingua means you agree to these terms.
These terms apply whenever you visit the site or use your account, the lessons, the library, practice, instructor calls and practice partners. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the service.
In shortLessons, books, practice and voice calls with instructors.
Sympholingua offers structured courses aligned to the CEFR levels, printable workbooks, practice drills, voice calls with instructors and voice practice with other learners.
The instructors are AI-powered characters with their own names and personalities. They are not human teachers, and we tell you so wherever it matters.
In shortKeep your details accurate and your password private.
Give accurate details when you register and keep your sign-in details to yourself. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
You must be old enough to agree to these terms where you live. Practice partners are only for adults aged 18 or over.
In shortOne-time payments; access opens once payment is confirmed.
Level packages, voice minutes and certificates are one-time purchases for the account that bought them. Prices are shown before you pay and payments are processed by our payment providers (Stripe or Ziina). Access is granted only after the provider confirms the payment.
Coupon codes and promotions are applied by us at checkout. Each has its own dates and limits, can't be exchanged for cash and may end at any time. A coupon used on a purchase isn't returned if that purchase is refunded.
In shortRefunds follow the policy shown at checkout and the law.
If you're entitled to a refund under the policy shown at checkout or under the law where you live, the related access is removed when the refund is made. A refunded certificate is withdrawn.
In shortCalls use minutes from your balance.
Calls with instructors use minutes from your voice balance, which you can see in the header. A call ends when the balance runs out. We may end calls or limit use that is abusive or harms the service for others.
In shortAdults only, opt-in, respectful conversation.
Only learners who chose to be listed and confirmed they are 18 or over appear in the directory. Calls happen only between accepted partners, are not recorded, and either person can hang up, block or report at any time.
Harassment, explicit content, hate, spam or pressure of any kind is not allowed. We review reports and may suspend accounts.
In shortProof you finished a course, not an official qualification.
A Sympholingua certificate confirms that the named account completed a course and met its completion rule. It can be checked on our verification page. It is not an official CEFR certificate or an accredited qualification.
We may withdraw a certificate if its payment is refunded or if it was obtained by cheating.
In shortLearn, don't misuse.
Don't try to break, copy or overload the service, extract instructions or credentials, share unlawful or explicit content, impersonate others, or use another person's account. Don't use instructors or partners to produce harmful content.
In shortOur materials are licensed to you for personal learning.
Lessons, books, images, instructor personas and the platform belong to Sympholingua or its licensors. You may use them for your own learning, including printing a copy for yourself, but not resell or republish them.
What you write or say stays yours. You allow us to process it only to run the service for you, as described in our privacy policy.
In shortHelpful, but not perfect.
Corrections, explanations and scores from instructors and practice are meant to help you learn and may sometimes be wrong. They are not professional advice of any kind.
In shortWe'll tell you about important changes.
We may update these terms when the service changes. If a change matters to you, we'll tell you in your inbox before it applies. You can stop using Sympholingua and ask us to delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.
In shortProvided as is, within what the law allows.
We work hard to keep Sympholingua available and accurate, but to the extent the law allows, the service is provided as it is, and we are not responsible for indirect losses. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have that the law says can't be limited.
